Stone chest
This work, carried out in 2018 and 2019, proposes a reflection on: the female body and the sexist and sexist stigmas imposed on it; the Renaissance model of the classic and perfect body; the obscenity imposed on nudity, confined to spaces delimited by Judeo-Christian morality; and the alienation of the production of the body's senses.
I use the aesthetics of this essay to represent myself and other women, producing a friction arising from the contact between performance, image and poetry, from the painful conflicts that existed when I exposed my naked body in the field of art. With that, there was the possibility of the existence of another territory of its own.
The images feature: self-portraits and portraits of women, taken in long exposure; reflections of sculptures in fragments of mirrors found in museums and squares in different countries; landscapes and objects found in nature; and poetry. Red marble texture digital layers are superimposed on the images.
